The role of cnc machining custom precision parts fixture

Proper custom CNC machining relies heavily on the entire process. This is where fixtures and tools come into play. Custom CNC parts often require processing because these parts have special functions. In some cases, special features may result in a significant increase in the price of machined parts. Fortunately, our experts at Xiehe came up with a great solution to this problem. It requires proper use of jigs and fixtures in custom CNC machining.

1. What are jigs and fixtures?

Fixtures and fixtures refer to the tools we use in production to produce parts accurately according to the set requirements. In our case, this happened to work for custom CNC machined parts. Fixtures and fixtures may include the following components:

Bushing

Sleeves

Cover up

Parts clamping support

2. What is the role of fixtures and fixtures in custom CNC machining? Custom CNC Machining

Some professionals will get the jigs and fixtures right. One key is to reduce the cost of the CNC machining process. It does this by enabling smooth operation, streamlining production and accelerating transitions. Fixtures and fixtures also help make up for the shortcomings of CNC machining custom parts. Our experts design them to provide a safe installation. This helps keep the part in place during machining. Here's a closer look at the role of jigs and fixtures in custom CNC machining.

Parts keep

Fixtures and fixtures are primarily used to hold parts in place during machining, and we custom design them to fit unique parts that are CNC machined. Therefore, they can hold parts at any unique angle, regardless of shape. Reliable custom fixtures are essential to prevent chatter and possible errors when the tool is pulled out. Some examples of fixtures that provide part clamping include: Chucks, Vices, Centers, Clamping Plates, and Milling Fixtures.

Jigs and fixtures also protect parts during the customization process. Therefore, they help maintain the desired surface finish and maintain proper beating. We design sleeves, shades and bushing fixtures for custom parts that require a unique surface finish. They protect the part from chips or metal chips generated during machining. In addition, our custom machining centers are available for parts that require exacting final runout.

Position control

Fixtures and fixtures are critical to maintaining positional and dimensional accuracy. They hold the workpiece at right angles during machining. Therefore, we can use the jig in fool-proofing as it reduces errors caused by human factors. Fixtures ideally limit the degrees of freedom of the workpiece. They do this by adding clamps, pins, fasteners and flats as they come up with the desired fixtures. Each part plays a specific role. For example, planes provide support for parts. At the same time, the clamps allow movement during installation and provide access during disassembly. Finally, pins provide precise position control for unique functions.

In custom CNC machining, we control features such as grooves and holes in specific locations. Due to limitations imposed by the installation, this may be assigned to the machine. For this reason, we designed the fixture as a more reliable method of CNC machining complex part features.

Part Consistency

Fixtures allow us to machine multiple custom parts while still maintaining their top-notch quality. They ensure that every part maintains a consistent quality, and few features require a high degree of consistency.

Reduce settings

Fixtures are a great way to eliminate the process of inspection tasks when loading parts. It makes the whole process plug and play by designing fixtures for custom parts. Our operators only need to load the workpiece because the fixture already manages the part reference and position control. This helps to greatly reduce the setup time that we can use in other value-added processes. One fixture that ideally helps us reduce setup time is a one-minute die change. Others include soft jaws, milling fixtures and hexagonal milling fixtures.

3. What are the types of fixtures in CNC milling and turning?

There are a variety of fixtures available for CNC machining of custom parts. Below is a further look at some common luminaire types.

Fixture

We also call it clamp block, base type tooling tower. It allows us to automate the machining process with one setup and load. It has four parts where we can mount or connect the workpieces.

Soft claw

Soft jaws play a key role in CNC machining by providing custom workholding. We machine this fixture by creating an upside-down version of the workpiece. As a result, it is able to achieve unique levels of efficiency. Additionally, it can clamp profiled parts with relative ease to ensure a snug fit when machining parts.

Mandrel

A series of mandrels exist, one of which allows us to clamp the workpiece while machining. They can be tapered or flanged to hold parts in place. As we drive the part into the hole, the tapered mandrel holds the part in place and grips the part by friction. Also, the flange mandrel has a flange at the end because we're threading it on the other side. We clamp the workpiece between the nut and the flange on the thread.
