There are two types of guide rail plastics: PTFE guide rail soft tape and epoxy wear-resistant guide rail coating. The plastic-coated sliding guide rail is characterized by good friction characteristics, good wear resistance, smooth movement, good vibration damping, and good craftsmanship.

2. Tumbling guide rail

The rolling guide rail is to place rolling elements such as balls, rollers, and needles between the guide rail surfaces, so that the sliding conflict between the guide rail surfaces becomes a rolling conflict. Compared with sliding guide rails, rolling guide rails have the following advantages: high sensitivity, and the difference between dynamic and static friction coefficients is very small, so the movement is stable, and it is not easy to crawl when moving at low speed; (high positioning accuracy, repeat positioning accuracy can reach 02um ;Small friction resistance, light movement, small wear, good precision retention, and long life. However, the vibration resistance of the rolling guide is poor, and the protection requirements are high.

The rolling guide rail is especially suitable for the occasions where the working parts of the machine tool require uniform movement, sensitive movement and high positioning accuracy. This is the reason why rolling guideways are widely used on CNC machine tools.

3. Static pressure rail

There is an oil chamber between the working surfaces of the two guide rails of the hydrostatic guide rail. After passing in lubricating oil with a certain pressure, a hydrostatic oil film can be formed, so that the working surface of the guide rail is in pure liquid friction, no wear, and good accuracy retention; At the same time, the friction coefficient is also extremely low, which greatly reduces the driving power; there is no crawling at low speed, the bearing capacity is large, and the rigidity is good; in addition, the oil has a vibration-absorbing effect and good vibration resistance. Hydrostatic guide rails can be divided into liquid static pressure guide rails and gas static pressure guide rails.

Its disadvantage is that the structure is complex, there must be an oil supply system, and the cleanliness of the oil is required to be high. Hydrostatic guide rails are increasingly widely used in machine tools. CNC turret punch press hydrostatic guide rails can be divided into two categories: open type and closed type.
