The turning and milling compound machining center has no special requirements for the machine tool, but it must provide at least one Y-axis movement. The rotation of the workpiece provides the milling cutter with c-axis motion to deliver the required feed rate (power). However, the cutting speed of the workpiece is measured in IPM rather than the SPM of the lathe (meaning that the cutting speed of the workpiece in the turn-mill center is much lower than that of turning). But the movement of the y-axis is necessary, because the milling cutter has to do a lot of eccentric machining. Moreover, when the tool is eccentric, the required part size cannot be machined, because when the tool is in the center, the tool center intersects the rotation center of the part, so the tool can only cut with its end face (that is, it cannot cut), but cannot cut. trimming. In order to ensure that the cutting edge can cut correctly, the centerline of the tool must deviate from the centerline of rotation of the part to 1/4 of the diameter of the tool.

There are three types of tools that can be effectively used in the turning and milling machining center. The main reason is the use of wiper blades or blades. For end mills in turning and milling, large flat or heavy interrupted cuts are possible. Step milling uses an insert end mill. Solid end mills are used for machining cylindrical parts, precision milling deep and narrow slots. Utilizing the scraper structure of the above tool, the deep part of the part can be cut by two of the four cutting edges of the tool, thereby realizing high-efficiency and high-precision machining.

But with this method, problems arise when the cutter approaches the sides of the steps and grooves. At this time, after the eccentric tool is processed, many rounded corners will be left on the surface of the part. To remove these fillets, the tool must be machined again. At this time, the tool deviation is no longer needed, and the tool moves along the Y axis to the center of the part for machining. However, this allowance is not allowed in some machining steps (sometimes metal is not allowed).

An unsatisfactory fact in the machining of the turning-milling compound machining center is the shape error of the machined parts. When the milling cutter is milling around the part, it is inevitable that some fan-shaped traces will be formed at certain intervals on the surface of the part. This error cannot be completely eliminated, but it can be effectively controlled with wiper blades. A wiper blade follows the other blades so that the edge is slightly convex in the width direction, so that the edge of the blade just extends to the surface of the workpiece to process a new cutting surface, and the slight scalloped trace is smooth.
